   The undersigned organizations strongly condemn the ongoing slandering and intimidation of civil society organizations, particularly human rights groups, and note that the referral of 43 Egyptian and foreign nationals to a criminal court is politically motivated. The affected institutions have been operating for several years without being asked to suspend their activities and without their offices being shut down.

Project Rakeeb - Third Round -  Final Statement

 

Summary of Findings Rakeeb observers found that the third round of voting in Egypt’s People’s Assembly Elections was a meaningful democratic exercise.  The voting process was mostly peaceful on both election days with relatively few reports of violence or intimidation.

Throughout the second day of the third round of elections, Rakeeb observers reported the voting process was largely peaceful nationwide with some cases of violence.However, of concern,Rakeeb observers notedactive campaigning by political contestants in and around polling centers in many

Similar to findings from yesterday, Rakeeb observers have reported that the vast majority of polling stations opened prior to 9 AM today. However, a few polling stations opened late due to the late arrival of polling officials.

Throughout the first day of the third round of elections, Rakeeb observers reported the voting process was largely peaceful nationwide.Overall, very few incidents of violence or intimidation were reported.

Daqahlia: After work had started in the third constituency in Meet Yaeesh stations number 83 and 84, it was found out that the polling lists at these stations belong the stations of the first constituency.
