 Egyptian Association’s for Community Participation Enhancement first report on monitoring the second electoral day on the second round of parliamentary elections

The observers of the Egyptian Association for Community Participation Enhancement continued monitoring the second day on the second round of the parliamentary elections. They observed that the polling stations all over 13 governorate opened at 9am and arrival of the judges on time. Despite this they observed that the voting is slim in 11 governorates which are (North Sinai, South Sinai, Qaliubiya, Dakahlia, Gharbia, Damietta, Suez, Menoufia, Ismailia, Port Said and Kafr El-Sheikh), while the voters’ turnout is varying in Cairo and Sharqeya.

The most important observations can be represented as follows:

Cairo governorate:

The polling stations in Mansheyt Naser, Gamaleya, Al-Salam, Al-Nahda, Ain Shams, Matareya, Bolaq Abou El-Ela, Qasr Al-Nil, Abdeen, Zamalek, Wayli, Al-Daher, Al-Saida Zainab, Shoubra Al-Khima, helwan, 15th May, Rod Al-farag, Al-Sahel in Shoubra, Al-Maadi and Al-Trwat opened at 9am. The voting in these constituencies is slim, while there is an increasing turnout of ladies since the early hours in Masr Al-Gedida Al-Namozgeya School. There is an observable increasing in the turnout as many candidates are transporting a large number of voters by cars and microbuses to the polling stations in Al-Zaweya Al-Hamraa constituency.

The observers of the association also spotted the supporters of the candidate (S.Sh) around Al-Muslim Al-Sagheer primary school pay electoral bribes L.E 50 and bags contain food to voters to buy their votes. In Bolaq Abou El-Ela, Al-Zaitoun constituency, the supporters of the candidate (M.H) pay L.E 300 for the vote.

 The observers of the association also spotted the supporters of some candidates rent cars with speakers that play special songs of the candidates to drive the voters to vote in Al-basateen constituency.

Al-Sharqeya governorate:

The polling stations all over the governorate opened at 9am, and the voting is slim in some polling stations. There was a fire shooting in air by a conscript to control over the heavy flow of people in the polling station no. 85 in Awlad Saqr city, Al-Sharqeya governorate. While there was an altercation and a hand-to-hand fighting between the supporters of the candidates (A.F) and (S.S) in the polling station in Al-Kheif village in Abou-hamad constituency and Army forces intervened immediately and separated the candidates’ supporters. 

Dakahlia governorate:

The polling stations all over the governorate opened at 9am, and the voting was slim.

In Belqas constituency, the supporters of the independent candidate (F.A) pay L.E100 for the vote, the supporters of the independent candidate (M.Y) pay L.E200 for the vote, and the supporters of the independent candidate (A.H) pay L.E50 for the vote.

North Sinia governorate:

The polling stations all over the governorate opened at 9am, and the voting was slim.

South Sinia governorate:

The polling stations all over the governorate opened at 9am, and the voting was slim.

Al-Gharbia governorate:

The polling stations all over the governorate opened at 9am, and the voting was slim.

Port Said governorate:

The polling stations all over the governorate opened at 9am, and the voting was slim.

 Ismailia governorate:

The polling stations all over the governorate opened at 9am, and the voting was slim.

Suez governorate:

The polling stations all over the governorate opened at 9am, and the voting was slim.

Damietta governorate:

The polling stations all over the governorate opened at 9am, and the voting was slim.

Kafr El-Sheikh governorate:

The polling stations all over the governorate opened at 9am, and the voting was slim.

Qaliubiya governorate:

The polling stations all over the governorate opened at 9am, and the voting was slim.

Menoufia governorate:
